WHY DO YOU FIGHT?

Question   

Why do you stand and fight alone? 
Why do you die to protect your home?   
Can you fight the good fight?    
Battling on through day and night?  

Why do you stand when there is no hope?
And with troubles and hardships constantly cope?
Why do you die protecting what's right? 
To banish the darkness and bring forth the light!

Why do you stand against tyrants who have power? 
Your energy shrinks with each passing hour,  
You could turn aside, and with the darkness reside, 
Why do you stand and fight? 

Answer:  

I stand and fight, 
For what I know to be right, 
To banish the darkness and bring forth the light! 

I know that my life is not worth the living,
If to a tyrant tribute we are giving,
And bound in chains, we're no better than slaves,
By heaven, I surely will die before I see that day!

And this is why,
I stand and fight, against the darkness and for the light,
I know that my own life is a precious gift to give,
And for my honor, for my Master, and for the light I will die and live!!

ZAKAJ SE BORIŠ?
 
 
Vprašanje
 
Zakaj se upiraš in bojuješ sam?
Zakaj umiraš, da bi zaščitil svoj dom?
Ali lahko biješ dober boj,
če ga biješ skozi vsak dan in noč?
 
Zakaj se upiraš, če ni upanja
in se nenehno spopadaš s težavami?
Zakaj umiraš braneč tisto, kar je prav?
Da preženeš temo in pripelješ luč!
 
Zakaj se upiraš tiranom, ki imajo moč?
Z vsako minulo uro energija ti peša.
Lahko stopil bi vstran in se sprijaznil s temo.
Zakaj stojiš in se boriš?

Stojim in se borim
za tisto, kar vem, da je prav,
da izženem temo in prinesem luč!
 
Vem, da življenje moje vredno ni, da ga živim,
če vlada mu tiran
in zvezani v verige od sužnjev boljši nismo.
Pri raju, umrl bom prej, preden dočakal bom ta dan!
 
In zato
stojim in se borim proti temi in za luč.
Vem, da življenje moje dragocen je dar, ki naj ga dam.
In za svojo čas, Gospoda svojega in luč, umrl bom in živel!!

Zato, da bi jo razumeli tudi tisti Slovenci, ki ne znate angleščine, sem jo tudi prevedla.

Preveč je ljudi ki trpijo, nimajo hrane, obleke in osnovnega izobraževanja. Otroci so najbolj ogroženi ... Mi, ki živimo življenje potrošnikov in vsak dan trošimo več, kot je potrebno, pa se včasih ne zavedamo kaj vse imamo in kaj vse bi lahko dali drugim ... Preden vas ponovno zaskrbi, ker ne dobite čevljev željene znamke, ker vam računalniške igrice, ki jih radi igrate, pa ste se jih kljub temu naveličali, začnejo iti na živce, preden boste rekli NE MARAM TE HRANE, preden boste rekli SOVRAÂŽIM ŠOLO ... kliknite tu in se zamislite ...

Living Death

Alas! For humankind the end seems near,
Uncertain future, terror unrevealed;
The incandescent hope that once shone clear
Is blotted out, by shadowed night concealed.

Once man lived by law of life, and strove
To battle death, whatever be his plight;
Sanguinity and hope his being drove
To struggle to exist with all his might.

Then circumstances changed, with time came pain;
Now death enthralls, depression reigns; and why,
When life is effortless to now maintain,
So many, grim and desperate, seek to die?

For though the world seems hopeless, and to some,
Death is at hand, yet Change is still to come.

A parent of the children of the World

I've got a letter yesterday - a letter from UNICEF. The tittle on it read:  "Starši otrok sveta" what I could translate as "A parents of the chilcren of the World".  This is how in our country imonthly donations program for UNICEF is called. The tittle reminded me, that I'm a member of this "family" already for two years now and I'm proud to that. No, I'm not proud for my benefit of being the "member" of such great project, but of helping to the children who need the help most.
  
I've opened the envelope and in it there was a beautiful greeting card - one of those UNICEF always offers for buying them as well and make a donation this way too. And there was something else: the envelope which should be given to those who aren't a part of this program yet and they would maybe like to be. I looked at this envelope and read the request to give it to a friend, co-worker or just someone who would like to help the children with monthly donation. And then the idea occured to me: why not inviting you, who want to help a bit different way, inviting you from here.
 
Yes, I'm inviting you all, who are willing to donate monthly for the children who need help most as they don't have even the basic things for their existence. Every dollar is valuable and every dollar can save the life ...

Starš otrok sveta

 
Včeraj sem dobila pismo - pismo od UNICEFA. Naslov na kuverti se je glasil "starši otrok sveta". Tako se imenuje program mesečnih prispevkov UNICEFU. Naslov me je spomnil, da sem član te "družine" zdaj že dve leti in ponosna sem na to. Ne, ne zatradi svoje slave, ker sem "član" takega sijajnega projekta, temveč zato, ker pomagam otrokom, ki to pomoč najbolj potrebujejo.
 
Odprla sem to ovojnico in v njej je bila prelepa voščilnica - ena tistih, ki jih UNICEF vsako leto da v prodajo in tudi na ta način omogoči prispevati. In v tej ovojnici je bilo še nekaj: ovojnica, ki naj se posreduje tistim, ki še niso del tega programa, pa bi morda radi postali. Gledala sem to kuverta in prebrala prošnjo, naj jo izročim prijatelju (prijateljici), sodelavcu (sodelavki) ali pa preprosto komu, ki bi želel pomagati otrokom z mesečno donacijo. In tako se je porodila zamisel: Zakaj ne bi vas, ki želite prispevati, povabila k temu na malo drugačen način? Zakaj vas ne bi povabila preko tega prostorčka?
 
Da, vabim vas vse, ki ste pripravljeni mesečno prispevati za pomoč tistim otrokom, ki le-to najbolj potrebujejo, saj mnogi izmed njih nimajo niti osnovnih pogojev za preživetje. Vsak tolar (po novem letu pač euro) je dragocen in vsak tolar (euro) lahko reši življenje ...

I think you still can sign a petition for makig powerty history and that World leaders would keep their promisses given on the summit.
 
Mislim, da na povezavi Live 8 še vedno lahko podpišete peticijo za odpravo revščine in za to, da bi svetovni voditelji držali obljube, ki so jih dali na zasedanju.
